About Grimm Curiosities
| My goal is to create quality art dolls and objects for people with discerning taste. Grimm Curiosities is the home based business of artist bela b. Grimm. Started in 2003 it was the dream of a little girl come true. As a child bela put on puppet created her first characters, and gave them a voice by creating shows with her little sister. She soon began teaching herself painting, sculpture, and bead work. After years of practice bela finally decided to pursue a formal education, obtaining her B.F.A. at 30, studying sculpture, ceramics, and printmaking. b.b. Grimm's inspirations include childhood fairy tales, meditations, prefabricated and weather objects, other worldly visions, puppet plays, Dada, many talented artists and doll makers, plus her friends and family. "Ever since I was very little I have wanted to create a world of my own. One where cats and rabbits dress up for fancy tea parties, stars come down from the sky and literally dance on the water, maybe even making friends with the fishes.
